Creating a Safer, More Accessible School EnvironmentAccessibility Upgrades at Oratoha Primary
Working in partnership with the Ministry of Education, Under Construction delivered a series of upgrades at Oratoha Primary School to improve site safety and accessibility. Located in the Orautoha Valley, 16km north-west of Raetihi, the project involved the installation of sleek black aluminium fencing along the street frontage and high wooden fencing around the remaining perimeter to ensure a secure and visually appropriate boundary.
Multiple access ramps were constructed across the school grounds to meet modern accessibility standards, and existing verandahs were retrofitted with safety railings to enhance day-to-day usability. These improvements contribute to a safer, more inclusive environment for students, staff, and visitors.
